3 Reasons to Hire a Listing Agent When Selling Your Home

Some homeowners and buyers avoid working with realtors or agents because it seems like an unnecessary hassle and a costly expense. However, it’s prudent to consider hiring a real estate agent if you’re looking for a house to buy. They come with expertise gained over several years of working with varied clients on wide-ranging deals.

1) Less Hassle and Time

You’re busy, that much is true. Your time, work, and/or family are all important factors in the crazy journey we call life. Why would you add the stress of being a real estate agent to that also?
Most people don’t realize what all goes into Prepping, Photographing, Marketing, Showing, and Selling a home. Agents may make it look easy, and “Selling Sunset” makes it look fun, but it isn’t always that pleasant. It is extremely time consuming. As a real estate professional, not only do we handle most, if not all of the above mentioned struggles, but we also do it in a way you usually don’t even realize we are working on it.

2) We Negotiate on Your Behalf

Negotiating is annoying, and if you aren’t experienced in it, it can cost you thousands of dollars, and sometimes even the sale of your home. Negotiations range from more than just price, it includes concessions, financing assistance, discussing arranging payments to assist both parties, and more. If you don’t know about the options, you can lose out on several opportunities to get top dollar, and keep it.

3) Connections

As an agent, this is what we do. All day and every day is about us shaking hands and doing real estate. In that process, most of us have acquired a “rolodex” of contacts that could not only assist you in the process of selling, but also save you money. We have met most all of the inspectors, appraisers, investors, other agents, and most importantly we have access to buyers. These connections can also allow us access to some listings that aren’t even on the market yet, giving you an advantage when searching for that next home or investment property.

So when you make the decision to list your home, consider using a local agent who knows the area, and most importantly gets to know you.
